Brunnavellir

Brunnavellir offers an accommodation in two farmhouses, located in an area known for its magnificent landscape. The surroundings welcome the visitor. We offer both double and single rooms and also one triple room. All our guests can use the kitchen if they wish to make their own meals. Brunnavellir also offers a whole house for rent for families travelling together or small groups. A new glass built addition to the house adds warmth to the bright summernights with magnificent view over the ocean and glaciers.

The location is ideal. Skálafellsjökull glacier is close by, the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón is only 20 km away and the national park at Skaftafell is 80 km away. Daily trips are available to Skálafellsjökull glacier.There are also good hiking trails near Brunnavellir. The town Höfn is 58 km away offering many activities such as golf and swimming.

Brunnavellir is located only 1 km from road number 1, the main road. The hosts at Brunnavellir are Jón Sigfússon and Sigríður J Sigfúsdóttir and they speak english.

Dilksnes - guesthouse

Dilksnes is a guesthouse and a market garden. Dilksnes accommodation has two rooms with shared access to kitchen and bathroom. One bedroom for three persons and one bedroom with one double bed and a bunkbed for two. Dilksnes is 4 km from Höfn and 1 km from the ring road. Dilksnes is open all year round. Breakfast is not served.

Dilksnes estate is characterized by grassy hills with moorland in between.The hills give panoramic view of the beautiful mountain circle of Hornafjörður, from Öræfajökull in the west to Horn in the east. The birdlife at Dilksnes has great variety, especially in the wetland and marshes around Hornafjörður.

The owners of the Dilksnes estate are Bjarni Hákonarson, Finndís Harðardóttir and their sons. They bought the estate in 1990 and established the market garden in spring 1991. The guesthouse was established in spring 2010.
